IX Southeast Regional Mar Thoma Youth Conference

This year, the IX Southeast Regional Mar Thoma Youth Conference was held at the Calvin Center-Conference, Retreat, and Camping Center in Hampton, GA from Thursday July 22nd to Sunday July 25th, 2010. There were 100 delegates who participated in the conference from the states of Georgia and Florida. The age groups of the delegates were ages between 12 and 34. The Hermon Mar Thoma Church of Atlanta, Georgia hosted this year's conference. Many eminent speakers led the various sessions for the conference. This year's theme was, “Heart of a Champion” based on the book of 1Samuel 16:7.

By God's Grace 31^st Mar Thoma National Conference is convened at Cabrini Retreat Centre, Chicago from July 22^nd – July 25^th 2010. Conference is hosted by Frankfort, Bethel Mar Thoma Church IL and very strongly supported by all the parishes of the Midwest Region. Dr. Eugene M. Sadhu served as the conference convener. We are living in a world where our identity as a Christian believer and as Marthomite is always questioned and always on trial and rigorous testing by the different forces of the community.

The Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists Association under the Diocese of North America and Europe held its 7^th National Edavaka Mission Conference from July 23^rd to July 25^th, 2010 at the National Christian Conference Center, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, USA. This conference and retreat was hosted by the Eastern Zone of the MTVEA in the Diocese.

Episcopal Visit to Emmanuel MTC, Lubbock

The Diocesan Bishop visited a second time Immanuel MTC, Lubbock on Saturday, July 31^st – August 1^st, 2010. The Holy Communion service was celebrated on Sunday morning at 10am. The service was in Malayalam and the members of the parish from near and far assembled to participate in the Holy Qurbana.

The 2010 Mar Thoma Family Conference of the Diocese of N. America & Europe, hosted by The Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Farmers Branch, was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in DFW airport. The theme of the conference was “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” John 20:21.

Region Sunday Schools at Ramapo, New Jersey 2010

This year, the combined Junior and Senior Students conference of the North East and South East Region was held at the Ramapo College, New Jersey from Thursday July 15^th to Sunday July 18^th,2010. There were 320 delegates participated in the conference, 293 Sunday school students and 27 chaperones from the tri- State area such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. The age groups of the delegates were grades between 6^th to 12^th.

The Diocese of North America and Europe had the joy of felicitating His Grace The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan on his 80^th birthday.

A reception was organized at the Sinai Mar Thoma Center on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 7pm. The Diocesan Episcopa Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius presided over the meeting which was attended by approximately 100 members of the Diocese including clergy, diocesan office bearers, Council, Assembly, Mandalam members and friends.

Episcopal Visit to St. Johns Mar Thoma Church, NY

The Episcopal visit at St. Johns MTC was held on Sunday, 11th July 2010 as they celebrated their 20th parish day.

The service started at 9.00 AM with Praise and worship, followed by Holy Communion service in Malayalam. A good number of people attended the Holy Communion service.

The conference was inaugurated by the Diocesan Episcopa by calling the delegates to identify with God's interest in the people.

The theme was “Abundant Life” and the key verse was John 10:10. Mar Theodosius Episcopa reminded everyone that “Healing is a gift of God” and all are called to participate with God with responsibility.

Episcopal Visit – Immanuel Mar Thoma Parish Houston

The visit of the Diocesan Episcopa to the Immanuel Mar Thoma Parish Houston was on June 19 & 20. The Diocesan Bishop stayed at the parsonage and gave leadership to various programs. It started with a wedding on Saturday. The Sunday Morning Holy Qurbana was in Malayalam. A large number from near and far came and participated in the Holy Communion. Being the Earth Day Thirumeni spoke on Psalm 24: 1. Rev. A.T.Thomas, the Vicar organized planting of three trees in the church premises.

The Annual Clergy Conference of the North – America, Europe, UK Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church was held at the St. Paul’s Mar Thoma Church, Dallas from 4th to 6th July 2010. The main theme of the conference was “Ministry in a Technocratic world”. 46 Achens and families from various parts of the Diocese attended the Conference. The Diocesan Episcopa Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Tirumeni attended the Conference and presided over it. The meeting started with Dinner. The opening worship was led by the Achens from the Houston area.
